Chalet Of The Countess D'Edla
In the second half of the 19th century, King Ferdinand II and his future second wife, Elise Hensler, Countess of Edla, created a private, romantically themed chalet and garden in Pena Park, a haven of refuge and recreation for the couple. Strategically located west of Pena Palace, the building follows the model of the Alpine chalets then in vogue in Europe. The exterior features include the Countess's Feteira, the Joina Garden, the arbor, and the lakes.
